Preview: Lee Scratch Perry @ Jazz Café (London, 9th & 10th October 2016)
80 seasons and still going upbeat. Jamaican music icon Lee Scratch Perry will be back in town and on stage with two gigs at the Jazz Café in a few days time. The legendary musician and producer from Kingston, who has recently celebrated his 80th birthday, will keep the party mood going, presenting to the Camden venue’s audience his fresh out of the oven new album titled Must Be Free and published in July.
Dub, roots-reggae and otherworldly arrangements will be there as usual, being Lee Scratch Perry’s unmistakable trademarks. Then, you will also enjoy the new features recently added to his production. The artist is indeed a tireless music-experimenter and sound-seeker and has updated his vibe successfully integrating acid-jazz, electronic elements and even some noise and dubstep details.
In less than a week, Lee Scratch Perry will light your “soul fire” once again and heat up the Jazz Café.
