What about an evening of hip-hop beats and rhymes in Woolwich? Sunday 18th of July will be about conscious rap, spoken words and positive Afro-vibes with Mohammed Yahya and Don Jaga.

The two singer/songwriters, MCs, beatmakers and social activists will bring their original and imaginative take on hip-hop music at the Garrison Church for two hours of far-reaching sounds.

Mohammed Yahya is a 360-degree artist who adopted rap and spoken word as messengers for his artistic vision. Co-founder of the Afro-Caribbean duo Native Sun, poet, educator and event organiser, in his music he blends his Southern African cultural roots (from his native Mozambique) with the London soundscape instilling in them striking messages promoting equality, social justice and environmental change.

While Don Jaga’s roots stretch between Angola and Portugal, where he was born, in the last years, his London residency has moulded his sound giving it a more urban character, but his Afro-Luso and Afro-Latin musical lifeblood still keep running through his sound.

Then join us for an evening of global hip-hop with beats and rhymes from the African Continent and beyond!
