Preview: Namvula ‘Quiet Revolutions’ Album Launch @ Rich Mix (London; Friday 20th April 2018)

Namvula Live 2_preview

We’ve grown fonder and fonder of Namvula’s second album Quiet Revolutions. Since its first wails, represented by the Indiegogo campaign (launched exactly one year ago) which allowed its publication, to its official release dated back to November, we followed the journey of the latest work of the Scottish/Zambian singer-songwriter almost step-by-step. So it goes without saying that we are more than looking forward to closing the circle by enjoying a live rendition of Quiet Revolutions at Rich Mix on the 20th of April.

After almost a year away from the stage (motherhood is a pretty busy business), Namvula is back with her music which draws inspiration from her own life experiences and different residencies around the world. Quiet Revolutions has enriched her repertoire with brand new stories and images, which has also allowed her to grow artistically and develop her sound.

Women are still the main characters inspiring her compositions, and folk mixed with pan-African sounds accent the album, but there’s a completely new musical perspective melding them together. So join us at Rich Mix in a few days’ time and discover the Quiet Revolutions that have turned, whirled, and twisted Namvula’s life and her music.
