Preview: Orkesta Mendoza UK Tour (UK-wide, 21st to 26th April 2017)
Are you ready to guarachar? If you’re based in the UK, ¡Como No! will give you the opportunity to dance, have fun and enjoy the red-blooded norteño sound of Orkesta Mendoza.
The 7-piece band from Tucson is the best possible answer to any nation’s border wall policy. They proudly embody the Tex-Mex tradition, drawing fully from North and South of the US/Mexico border, and embodying both sets of cultural expression. If during one song, you’ll follow the tiempo – dancing to the Latin American soul of the rhythm, on the following one you’ll bang your head – matching its rock drum beats.
Cumbia, mambo and traditional norteño vibes will go hand in hand with psychedelia and alt-rock: It will be a six-day long road party! And if you don’t know what guarachar means…don’t bother to take out your English-Spanish dictionary: You’ll learn it as soon enough, as your feet, legs and hips will unconsciously begin to move in time with Orkesta Mendoza’s sound.
