After sixteen years of music-making – involving over a thousand live performances and various combinations of more than forty musicians – the Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club will be waving adios to London at The O2 on Wednesday 6th April, the final night of a farewell tour that has taken the group around the globe
With appearances from founding members Omara Portuondo, Eliades Ochoa, Manuel ‘Guajiro’ Mirabal and Barbarito Torres, the Adios tour promises to reignite the energy of the group’s landmark studio album Buena Vista Social Club of 1997, arguably the most successful world music album of all time and undoubtedly the biggest selling Cuban album in history.
If you fancy a bit of mid-week dancing and some spectacular instrumentalists, don’t miss this chance to wave goodbye to the pioneering Cuban music collective and to salsa your socks off while you’re at it.
