Born in 1994 in Barcelona, Sónar is the ‘International Festival of Advanced Music and Congress of Technology and Creativity’, an internationally renowned festival leader in the electronic music landscape. In the last decade, it has stretched out its arms to a number of cities all over the world, organizing events from Buenos Aires to Seoul, from Hamburg to Oakland. This February it returns for the fifth time to the capital of Iceland, where a sister three-day festival is now held.

Sónar Reykjavík is a more intimate version of the Spanish one. It will take place on five stages with a total capacity of 3500 guests, allowing a closer relationship between the performers and the audience. Performers that hail from both Iceland and beyond, and include some of the masters — Ben Klock, Fatboy Slim and Moderat — as well as some of the most exciting new acts of electronic music, such as Canadian Marie Davidson or Icelandic SiGRÚN, who toured with Björk and Sigur Rós. Expect also a dose of hip-hop by legendary De La Soul or newcomer GKR, and a showcase by Red Bull Music Academy alumni.
