Preview: Toots & The Maytals + The Beat + Rodigan+ Trojan Sound System + Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry + Many More @ Alexandra Palace (London; Saturday 8th September 2018)

The skyline of Jamaican music has been sculpted with the legendary sound of reggae band Toots and the Maytals. Synonymous with their genre, they are one of the most prolific reggae bands to have hit the global arena since the 1960s. The group sneak influences of funk, soul and country into their recordings and are best known for their 1970’s hit “Monkey Man”.

Toots and the Maytals will be playing a one-off tour stop in London at Alexandra Palace this weekend with lead singer Frederick Nathaniel “Toots” Hibbert aged 75 showcasing his heart thumping vocals. Supporting the band is the extended family of reggae royalty: The Beat, Rodigan, Lee Scratch Perry and Trojan Sound System.

For any disciples of the reggae spirit, this a one-off show that can’t be missed. Sun shining vibes will spill out atop the raw energy built with pure groove and syncopation.
