Listen to the latest single from Conjunto Guantánamo, titled Rumba Guajira and released through Nganga Records on the 24th of February.
The track features energetic Afro-Latin rhythms, heartfelt melodies, and fresh vocals, making it a perfect choice for the salsa dancefloor. Ulises Beato, the band’s percussionist and leader, shares that it has been a favorite tune in their repertoire for years and is thrilled to introduce it to audiences.
Based in New York, but originating in Havana and Matanzas, Conjunto Guantánamo, also known as the “Sizzling Ambassadors of Cuban Folklore,” brings forward the classic Afro-Cuban sound energizing it with lively percussion, syncopated bass lines, exotic trumpet melodies, and the captivating lead vocals of Pepito Gomez.
Their music combines the precision and rhythm of traditional Afro-Cuban music with the urban drive and vibe of New York City’s nightlife, resulting in a distinct and soulful sound.
