EDKUB is the new music project by Swiss composer, producer and bass player Fred Sumi. Launched in 2018, it blends electronica with Cuban sounds.
After many years spent travelling to and visiting the Caribbean island, Fred recorded different sessions with local musicians expressing his love for traditional Afro-Cuban styles like timba and salsa.
‘Yaya’ is EDKUB’s first single and anticipates the debut LP of the project scheduled for March 2022.
It features singers Yassell and Raysel Sotomayor, percussionists Duniesky Barreto ‘El Cuba’ (congas) and Roicel Riverón (timbal), pianist Maykel ‘Cuchilla’ Garcia, and trumpet player Eduardo Bringuez.
