Gerard Casas (aka Cheb Lila) is a cultural translator, editor and journalist. Navigating through his own acoustic medina, he flows between traditional rhythms and contemporary voices from around the globe, with an inclination towards African and Middle Eastern beats. He has crafted music selections for platforms such as Radio Gladys Palmera and Groovalización, and he also participates in the Radio Africa show at Barcelonian station Betevé.

You can meet him singing to the tune of the latest indie Lebanese hit in his hometown of Barcelona’s El Raval district, chanting to Egyptian classics after a protest in Casablanca, or devoted to the electronic vibes of the Istanbulite scene.
