Arriba La Cumbia! welcome 2015 next Friday 16th January a party with Cumbia, tropical, latino and amazonic live bands and Dj's. Ready to kick off the year with top band CONJUNTO SABROSO full of original songs and tropical rhythms to heat the dance floor including bringing together some of the most experienced musicians in the Latin circuit to produce their own distinctive and original sound. Support will be by amazing Rumba/Pachanga band DANDALUZ and back in the latin music scene the great band MORA playing Son montuno and afro-tropical sounds.

 

On the decks spinning the best Arriba la Cumbia! special tunes our host Dj Russ Jones aka Hackney GlobeTrotter + Hawaiian Bop upstairs + more DJs to be announced.

Traditional and organic Latin dance music with an explosive contemporary edge, Salsa, Descarga, Son Montuno, Guajira, Bolero, Cumbia from this top, popular London based Latin band. Renowned for their authentic swing and lively presence on stage, Conjunto Sabroso is one of London's most established and popular Latin bands, with a tradition for mixing all kinds of authentic and infectious Afro-Latin styles. Their performance is a percussive explosion of old school Salsa, Son, Guajira, Cha cha, Bolero and heavy Cumbia, that keeps audiences glued to the dance floor wherever they play.

Dandaluz live is an intoxicating and colourful experience, they're the kind of band who can keep you dancing til your feet hurt. Comfortable footware is advised.

MORA
Victor Alarcon 'Mora' who has a musical style firmly based in traditional Latin music, while referencing elements of Brazilian, son Montuno and afro-tropical sounds.
Born in Bolivia his playing remains beautiful and communicative throughout, reflecting a true sense of the latin spirit. In his solo acoustic playing, he plays with a passion that equally captivates the listener. Victor was exposed in London to a broad range of musical styles, including brazilian music (MPB), folk, latin, son and tropical beats.
