Respecting a musical tradition that stretches back to the 13th Century and the Mandinka Empire of West Africa, Seckou is an established contemporary master of the Kora, the 21 stringed African harp. With his feet firmly rooted in the present and the identity of his heritage clear, Seckou is leading a new generation of African musicians, keen to experiment and develop fresh ideas. 2012 brings the new album Miro and a brand new show featuring an exciting 7 piece band. This project represents a return to Seckou's roots and the original influences that inspired him as a young musician in Senegal, combined with the experiences he has collected travelling the world, the results are truly magical.
