Anchoring her homeland’s music in jazz and soul composition, the Italian-Sudanese artist brings to life the Nubian-jazz genre.

Amira Kheir's soulful compositions feature a blend of East and North African rhythms coupled with jazz improvisation and slight brushes of Afro-Latin and Neo-Soul beats weaved within, resulting in pithy and colourful albums. Her past projects include the highly lauded live scoring of cult silent film Sumurun, which was run at The Barbican and Southbank Centre.
