The rise in popularity of cumbia and tropical sounds just continues to soar and so it is with pleasure we return with another session of Arriba la Cumbia. The last sessions was a sell out with the main act playing over two hours. A proper latino fiesta! For the next outing we have an amazing line up and are teaming up with one of the world's premier record label World Circuit for a celebratory launch of the re-issue of their seminal compilations Cumbia Cumbia vols. 1 and 2.
Playing live are ALC favourites Cumbe with a furious mix of folkloric, afro cumbia with traditional dance and costumes. Also on the bill it is pleasure to invite back Los Independentes De Vallenato playing a mix mix of cumbia and vallenata classics.
World Circuits compilations somewhat put the cumbia on the map way back in 1989 and 1993 turning many people onto the cumbia sound for the first time. Now they have repacked them into one release with great new artwork, booklet and even a limited edition vinyl pressing.
