Beatroots is back for our 8th edition! As we do, every other month we bring you the finest of the UK underground: Jungle, Hip-Hop, Ragga, Ska and Reggae.

What a night we had in January! Once again we'll be bringing you big doses of brass and bass with 4 live acts and amazing dj's. Bring a friend, get your purple on.

::Hosted by resident lady of the mic::

Well established in the scene, this duo is coming together and down to London for a special Beatroots set. Pete Cannon headlined our November event with Dr Syntax. This time his trusted DJ skills are demanded again in supporting the Bristolian JMAN- one who has been blazing trails in the UK scene. Badman on the mic- fluent in hip-hop and ragga/reggae this is another collaboration for the books!

Rags Rudi are seven young East Londoners blending the party-sparking vibe of ska, headiness of hip-hop and politicized chaos of punk into a sound as diverse and uncompromising as the city that raised them.
With a full length debut album fresh off the press, Rags Rudi are set to bring their live show to party animals across the globe.

"Maybe we've found a new band to mobilise the masses."

The Brass Funkeys draw from the traditions of New Orleans with skilled musicianship, rolling from spirited second line revelry to soulful jazz funeral marches and brass driven funk.
Reggae, hip hop, gypsy, swing and Latin influences are exposed in an eclectic live show revealing a band bursting at the seams with ideas and infectious energy.

Yoshke and the Wolves tore the house down last time, traversing the klezmer landscape with a spring in their step. We had to get them back. Packed to the rafters with wailing woodwind and howling strings Yoshke sits amidst the pack, accordion in hand, marshalling your feet to the unquenchable rhythms and bidding them dance.

One of Beatroot's resident DJs, Cheating is the lovechild of Grace Jones and Roger Troutman. He has been bringing serious syncopation to dancefloors all over the British Isles for several years, and loves every second of it.

DJing since he was 17, The Sultan has turned heads and ears with his skill for mixing music aimed for the dancefloor. Having held residencies across Bristol and Manchester, his quick style of mixing through different genres earned him a place in the final of the British Student DJ championships, and airtime on Radio 1xtra and Kiss fm. Whether it be Dancehall, Garage, House, Jungle or Hip Hop, the Sultan is well practiced in creating a party atmosphere that always leaves an impression.

Jung Girl is a musician/DJ who blends an eclectic, ecstatic tracks with mind expanding samples and subliminals. Expect bass heavy breaks, junglistic tribalism and some remixed classics straight outta leftfield and onto the dancefloor

Plus much, much more.
