Warm bossa nova rhythms and ethereal vocals from Brazil's chart-topping artist.
Daughter of Brazil's legendary guitarist and vocalist João Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto is true royalty among the Brazilian music scene. Her bossa nova-infused melodies subtly link Brazilian rhythms with more contemporary electronics.
Tonight she performs songs from her first release in five years, Tudo. A very personal album for Gilberto, which includes a collaboration with singer Seu Jorge.
'Tudo means 'everything' and as a Brazilian, I feel everything and live every moment deeply, and wanted to sing about each little moment, emotion, idea, melody that has been part of my life over the past year. I am loving life and living more passionately than ever and wanted to share all that!'
Gilberto captured fans and media acclaim worldwide with her hit breakout album Tanto Tempo in 2000, which featured her trademark electronic bossa nova, taking over clubs around the world and positioning Bebel as one of the top-selling Brazilian artists. Since then, critically-acclaimed albums followed, including Bebel Gilberto (2004), on which she refined her sound to create an acoustic lounge style that showcased her strengths as a Brazilian composer, Momento (2007) and Grammy-nominated All in One (2009).
