Filling the Hall with clouds of smoke and noise, doom-metallers Sunn O))) head to the Barbican as part of Convergence 2017.

Taking heavy metal and boiling it down to its core components, Sunn O)))’s self-described ‘power ambient’ music eschews rhythm and melody to explore drone and texture. Heavily distorted guitars, throbbing subterranean bass and a swamp of feedback create a bewildering and entrancing live experience.

Icelandic singer and cellist Hildur Gudnadóttir opens the concert, blending elements of classical composition with elements drawn from an eclectic pool of experimental styles.
