GoGo Penguin Live At The Royal Albert Hall

Soundcrash are extremely proud to announce that Blue Note Records’ GoGo Penguin will be debuting their new album, A Humdrum Star, at one of the worlds greatest venues, the Royal Albert Hall.

Based in Manchester, Gogo Penguin are a leftfield piano trio made up of pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Nick Blacka, and drummer Rob Turner. Their music has been described as acoustic-electronica, but they draw equally on rock, jazz, and glitchy-electronica to create their unique and spellbinding sound.

A favourite among critics, GoGo Penguin’s music has been associated with the likes of Aphex TwinSquarepusherMassive Attack, and Brian Eno. In September 2014, v2.0 was also shortlisted for the Mercury Prize Album of the Year.

A spectacular band in what is perhaps London’s most iconic venue, this night is truly one of a kind and absolutely unmissable for GoGo Penguin fans.

Album Review: GoGo Penguin – A Humdrum Star [Blue Note Records; February 2018]
