Another lively, fun night out at Jump Jive and Shout the friendly, monthly jive night with vinyl queen dj Jeniffer Jackson spinning some of the very best in pulsating, energy driven 1940's and 50's rhythm 'n' blues, jump jive, boogie woogie, doo wop, blues shouters and more.
Join us as we celebrate the wonderful, dynamic sounds of the greats that influenced what would later become known as "rock 'n' roll"; Little Richard, Louis Jordan, Lavern Baker, Big Joe Turner, Wynonnie Harris, The Chords, Ruth Brown and many others. Music that rocked the juke boxes, rent parties and juke joints all over America, all music played on vinyl the way they did it back then.
Performing live on the night will be the excellent London based band The Devout Sceptics making a welcome return to Jump Jive and Shout. A great live band, stylish, great songs, good to watch and they perform extremely well. Look forward to original material from this stylish London outfit, whose songs fuse country, Americana, blues and rockabilly and features the charming lead vocalist Collette Winter with the country twang in her voice and the raw emotion of some of the great rockabilly queens like Wanda Jackson and Janice Martin.
Line-up
