After a sold out launch show, Lagos to London returns to Paper Dress for another night celebrating all things Afrobeat & Afrodisco with a blistering live afrobeat set from 9-piece JORO with support from Afro Jazz newcomers Léa & The Sunflowers.
Comprised of a group of experienced musicians from different genres who share a love of afrobeat and afro-funk music. They mix the sounds of the legendary Fela Kuti with their own originals and modern afrobeat to produce music you can’t help but dance to.
Léa & The Sunflowers
Afuturistic Afro-Jazz band with a genre-bending sound from high life, to bossa-nova and reggae. Drawing inspiration from Congolese legend Franco Luambo, reggae icon Bob Marley, and Malian artists such as Fatoumata Diawara and Rokia Traorè; Léa’s music largely talks about life, peace, and freedom while reflecting on the state of the world.
