London Lucumi Choir

The London Lucumi Choir is just over five years old and is led by Musician and Orisha Priestess Daniela Rosselson De Armas.

The Choir is a non audition community choir which is open to all and is a Choir like no other singing songs to the Orishas; Yoruban Deities and other Genres from the African Diaspora as found in Contemporary Cuba. The Choir is unusual since it depends on the accompaniment of traditional Afro Cuban Drums. Although the Choir began by playing only with Bata drums, (double headed, set of three) they now play different styles including Guiro ( with beaded Chekeres and Bembe.)  In it's short life the Lucumi Choir were category finalists 2008 at BBC Radio three Choir Competition of the Year.
