We are proud to announce the next collaboration with The Outlook Orchestra show… Mala will join the Orchestra at the controls, alongside some very special guest vocalists.
Together they will perform the best of his own productions and remixes, music from the vaults of DEEP MEDi & dmz, as well as tracks from his 'Mala In Cuba' and his Peru-inspired 'Mirrors' project.
In addition to Mala's own creations he will be joining the orchestra on the controls through a performance celebrating some of the biggest pioneering bass driven tracks of his generation, including tracks by The Bug, Skream, Benga, Kahn, Sir Spiro, Loefah, Goth-Trad and many more.
Music, energy, culture and collaboration: Croydon-born, Belgium-based Mala has played a pioneering role in UK music since the turn of the century. Stirring dubstep’s musical melting pot with its most primal ingredients before it even had a name, Mala was a founding member of DMZ, the crew behind some of modern bass music’s most influential dances and the most highly prized 12s the movement has ever known. Almost 20 years later, his ideas and his creations continue to influence, push and fuse contemporary electronic music to unchartered places…
Introducing The Outlook Orchestra
The 20-piece Outlook Orchestra features some of the UK's finest musicians and includes two drummers in an extended rhythm section, along with large string and horn sections. Some of the players include rising stars in jazz Eddie Hick (Sons Of Kemet) on drums alongside Richard Spaven (Flying Lotus, The Cinematic Orchestra).
The orchestra is lead by BASCA award-winning composer Tommy Evans, the creative force behind both Submotion Orchestra and Gentleman's Dub Club. He is assisted by trumpeter and arranger Matt Roberts, who has performed and collaborated with the likes of Orlando Julius, The Gaslamp Killer and The Heliocentrics.
