Namvula + B-Sides

namvula_1.jpg

The word is that Zambian singer-songwriter Namvula is the Big New Thing in world music, with anticipation for new album Shiwezwa already a hot ticket item, not least for the sizzling involvement of Led Bib bassman Liran Donin and the classic guitar cascades of Osibisa's Kari Bannerman. But it's her assertive vocals and the sheer strength of her material that holds the whole thing together.
