Nigerian’s Musical Diasporama

fela.jpg

Nigeria is culturally renowned for her creative, inventive music of quality and music with a message: from Tokyo to New York, from Sweden to Spain, from Johannesburg to Cairo, you say Nigeria and the world responds FELA ANIKULAPO KUTI - the legend and inventor of Afrobeat. This musical flame has been carried on by several artists of Nigerian origins in the diaspora (London, Paris, Germany, U.S.A...) Keziah Jones, Asa, Ayo, Nneka, Tony Allen, Lemar, Sade, Seal, the Kuti son's, Femi and Seun and the list goes on...

The idea is for the ARTISTS to choose 3-4 of their worldwide hits or the songs they feel best represent this coming together of Nigerian artists at the occasion of the London Olympics 2012.
In this Diasporama festival, the ARTISTS shall come solo, without their usual supporting band. Inspiration and togetherness shall, we hope, give birth to a collective song.
