Vintage meets Tropical, The New Empowering Church is a unique urban tropical style venue in Hackney, East London. Get your best threads and dancing shoes to swing and shake and make the most of this new beginning!! We will have cocktails and dancers, with fantastic live performances and DJs featuring;





Swing/ New Orleans Rhythm n Blues- This is the ultimate mash-up of Swing, New Orleans hot jazz, storming RnB, Rhumbas and blues from one of the spiciest and experienced all star groups around. These boys have separately toured the world and rocked TV sets and radios with this heady musical mix.


All start band featuring: Puppini Sisters’ drummer Pat Levett, multiple band leader Graham Hughes, Madeleine Peyroux and ‘Fela’ guitarist Laurence Corns, rising star of the reeds Ewan Bleach, Paloma Faith and Ronnie Scott’s regular Dom Pipkin.


Fresh from a stint in New Orleans, DJ Lil’ Koko will be serving up tasty platters of rare New Orleans R n B and Swing
