"A wonderful introduction into a completely different kind of harp music, beautifully expressed. Thank you."
Words from an appreciative member of the audience the first time Ricardo Curbelo performed at Lopping Hall in November 2016.
This innovative musician, singer, composer and poet is delighted to return and present another vibrant and varied evening of new and traditional Latin American music on harp, cuatro, maracas and vocals. Energetic and jazzy rhythms will contrast with romantic songs and enchanting melodies. The Homo sapiens Dream, (El Sueño Homo sapiens), name of the
concert and title track of Ricardo's third album, has been much praised by audiences and led to Ricardo being described as "the perfect act for the day" at the Natural History Museum in June 2010. It is one of his many spellbinding
compositions.
"Very atmospheric, mesmerising, great range of emotions evoked - thank you! The Homo sapiens piece reminded me (in places!) of Pink Floyd"
(Reeth Memorial Hall, August 2016)
"Ricardo, mil gracias por este hermoso recital, eres in genio de la musica y compositor extraordinario."
(Anglo - Colombian Society, London, May 2014)
"This was a delightful sojourn into a different place. Such mastery and melody."ü
(St Andrew's Church, Leytonstone, November 2019)
