Sandblast and Fairtunes invite you to Sahara Nights, the multi-arts Studio-Live launch on June 6 at London's beloved Roundhouse (Studio Theatre). We are very pleased to be joined by special guest Aziza Brahim from Western Sahara, a fabulous singer and percussionist who will be presenting songs from her new album Mabruk.
The evening compered by Dan Tsu from Lyrix Organix will include a spectacular line-up of live music and spoken word acts, with artists Ruby and the Vines, Inua Ellams, Luzmira Zerpa with her Family Atlantica, Lizzie Ogle, Karim Dellali and Mossi Conde in support of music-making for freedom through Studio-Live. Hispano-Saharawi singer Suilma Aali and young Saharawi journalist Asria Taleb will be present, too.
Audiences will also have the chance to be immersed in the Saharawi world through photography by Ed Harriman, Bernat Millet and award-winning Andrew McConnell and preview clips from two new films, The Runner by Saeed Taji Farouky and a portrait of the life and poetry of Lkhadra Mabruk, Aziza Brahim's grandmother, by Noë Mendelle.
Spaces are limited! A guaranteed sell out! Buy your tickets now!
Early Birds get a discount. You can also purchase a Superticket, which includes much-acclaimed Sandtracks album, by Saharawi refugee band Tiris (CDs will be handed out at the entrance)
