SIMON GOSS * 10.12.65-08.01.10
Unbelievably, it’s now almost two years since we lost Simon Goss, co-founder of Wah Wah 45s, to lung cancer, when he had just turned 44. Since his death, we have raised over £12,000 for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, in tribute to and in memory of Simon, the majority of which was raised through two incredibly moving and successful “Simon Says!” events at The Jazz Café in 2010 and 2011. We are now on a hat-trick for 2012 and e would love you to join us for Simon Says 3!
Always a promoter of new music and a passionate advocate of young musicians, it is testament to the wonderful man he was that we have another amazing array of talented musicians, performers and DJ’s queuing up to give their services for free to raise more money for the Roy Castle Foundation, the only charity dedicated to defeating this most voracious of cancers. The line up includes Simon’s beautiful and talented sons Tom and Joe, his beloved brother (and Hospital Records label boss!) Chris, Dom Servini & Adam Scrimshire who continue to take Wah Wah 45s from strength to strength, some of Wah Wah’s finest signings and undoubtedly the odd special guest or two! Those of us who knew and loved Simon remember him and celebrate his life every day, but please join us for our annual party to pay tribute to him and make “Simon Says 3” another sell out! Thank you so much and we’ll see you there! x
