A raga is an Indian melodic form that is connected to moods, seasons and times of the day. Particular musical pitches evoke images and conjure up the spirits of the season. And winter is a season often associated with ghosts, gods and the supernatural...
Come down to this free Wednesday night concert to discover the rarely heard spooky side of Indian music! The event will feature highly skilled performers on varying instruments exploring how particular pitch bends and note clusters invite the spirits from the paranormal world. Pieces will range from slow ethereal glides to ecstatic frenzied crescendos. The series curator, Soumik Datta, having returned from his tours in Brazil and US will also perform as part of this line up. Prepare yourself for a winter special!
