Terrarium 12th Oct 2018: Lefto & Simbad

Lefto
Yes yes folks, Draebeert’s rustled up another leafy soiree! He welcomes us back into his basement to trip the light fantastic at yet another pollen-fuelled horticultural affair. This time he has tracked down two of the most acclaimed and eclectic selectors who will explore the depths and breadths of their record bags. Lefto (Brownswood, Belgium) is famed for his genre-spanning, frenzy-inducing sets. Rooted in jazz and hip-hop, he has spent his expansive career building up an arsenal of musical rarities through his 15 years of national radio in Belgium. He curates his own stage at Dour Festival as well as his own nights in Gent and has been a resident at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival for 10 years. His celebrated compilations prove how well his musical tastes are respected worldwide. Simbad, another Brownswood affiliate, has an equally far-reaching eye for musical exploration. As a Dj’s Dj and producer’s producer, his extensive discography of original productions and edits ranges from jazz to reggae, dub to garage, funk to hip-hop via techno and soul. Together these two are a force to be reckoned with. Be ready for an exploration of music from around the globe, and all we ask from you, is to have a dead good boogie. No standing, only dancing. Once again, we will be donating all profits from this event to Bridges for Music, a charity providing opportunities for musical tuition and development in South Africa. Embraced by the Alps Mountains in the North-western area of Italy, Turin is a city marked by its aristocratic past and industrial history.
