Tickets: Ticketweb / Fatsoma / See Tickets Wah Wah 45s are proud to present an afrobeat, funk and hip hop spectacular at BrixtonJAMM featuring an extended live show from recent Wah Wah signing and afrobeat legend, Dele Sosimi, complete with his full size Afrobeat Orchestra! Since signing to Wah Wah 45s at the begining of 2014, Dele had been recording his debut long-player for the label (due for reelase in May 2015) and released the first single to be taken from it, Sanctuary, late last year, garnering much support from BBC 6Music and the afrobeat community worldwide.

Ty really needs no introduction. The revolutionary UK hip hop veteran, now signed to Tru Thoughts Records, has been taking both his DJ and live shows across the globe for over a decade now, working and performing with De La Soul, Tony Allen, Arrested Development and our very own Dele Sosimi! This untouchable South London MC will be performing cuts from his recent LP, Special Kind of Fool, as well as showcasing some exciting new material, and who knows, may even step up to the stage and join the afrobeat party too! And as if that wasn't enough, we also welcome Bristol DJ royalty, Boca 45, who'll be dropping some of the finest hip hop and funk around Ty's set, and joining us later in Room 2 for a freestyle selection. Plus we have the bonus of Afrobeat Vibration resident DJ Koichi Sakai who'll be keeping the tropical party vibes going either side of Dele Sosimi's epic live show. Keeping your feet moving in room two will be your favourite Wah Wah residents, head honchos Dom Servini & Scrimshire, and young upstart Bopperson, joined once again by the incredible Unwanted Family and their heady mix of all things good for you from bass and brass to bossa and beyond! And don't forget to check the Wah Wah Shop for all your vinyl, CD and merch needs!

Album Review: Koichi Sakai feat. Afla Sackey – Wono LP [Olindo Records; March 2020]

Wono is a seven track LP spanning from acid inspired slow house, to meditative kora-based tracks. Reminiscent of the psychedelic atmosphere of…
