DJANAN TURAN

Djanan Turan is a singer songwriter of Turkish origin, based in London. Her solo work consists of a Turkish album, 2 EP’s in English and 3 singles. She has also collaborated and performed with Sam and The Womp, The Egg, Raz Olsher (Fossil Studios), Robin Twelvetree, Voices of Nature and many other artists and producers.

Join us for her heavyweight 5-piece of hard-hitters, with Alessandro Maranca on bass, Dan Lipman on sax/clarinet/flute, Fatih Ebrem on guitar, Tansay Omar on drums and Djanan on vocals and keys. Their live set is a vibrant and melodic mixture of various influences from ragga to Turkish beats, cabaret to disco. After a busy summer at festivals within and outside the UK (Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival, etc..) join them for a super special set in the garden.

NADINE KHOURI DUO

Nadine Khouri is a musician & songwriter currently based in London.

Influenced by dream-pop, film soundtracks and spoken-word, Khouri’s sound has been described as a “music born of perennial outsider-status.”

Noted by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Giant Sand) for her voice, Khouri was invited to sing on a track on his Screenplay LP and subsequently to record her forthcoming album with the producer in his hometown of Bristol.

Sparse & minimal in its arrangement, the resulting album is a haunting collection of poetic and atmospheric meditations on loss and transformation, reminiscent of the dreamy alt-folk of Mazzy Star & Sparklehorse.

In the past few months, Khouri has performed at Union Chapel, National Portrait Gallery, Royal Festival Hall in London and supported alt-folk maverick Howe Gelb, Mary Hampton, and John Parish, garnering positive reviews for her live performances in MOJO magazine and more. She is set to release her hotly-tipped debut album later this year.

Nadine will be performing at Woodburner accompanied by Basia Bartz on violin.

Andy Wright of the fantastic We Show Up on Radar joins us all the way from Nottingham. WSUOR have been very lucky to have been asked to support such wonderful bands as Bright Eyes, The National, Tunng, Piney Gir, Darren Hayman, Brother Danielson, The Boy Least LIkely To and many more. Expect progressive sounds from the master of quirk.
