Samedia Shebeen is a clubnight, travelling venue, a sound, a philosophy all rolled into one. The project was formed by a group of established Scottish DJs and tropical music enthusiasts in 2010 as a means to presents the music they love in an original, stimulating and friendly environment and has seen the crew travel the length of the UK delivering their unique take on the worldwide tropical sound to ecstatic crowds.
As well as festivals like Glastonbury and Boomtown they've made numerous global appearances including Mzoli’s and Fiction in Cape Town, Soundwave Festival in Croatia, M-Bar in Helsinki, Electric Picnic in Ireland, Wellington Jazz Festival, La Casbah in Antigua, Traffic in La Paz, Copan in Honduras and Mandrea Festival Italy.
A visit to the Samedia will take you on an expertly mixed and riotous journey through space and time – taking in rhythms old and new from all over Africa, the Middle East, Brazil and Latin America, and the Carribean – via essential new club sounds of London, NYC, Paris and way beyond.
