Playlist: Don Jaga (July 2021)

Less than a week to go to our next appointment with Sounds of the World, the music series, part of the Greenwich Family Arts Festival calendar, that Rhythm Passport is curating in partnership with Tramshed.

On Sunday 18th of July, at the Garrison Church in Woolwich, we will present an evening of global hip-hop with beats and rhymes from the African Continent and beyond!

So, it’s time to introduce you to the musicians performing, starting with Don Jaga.

Jaga’s musical roots stretch between Angola and Portugal. In the last years, his London residency has moulded his sound giving it a more urban character, but his Afro-Luso and Afro-Latin musical lifeblood still keep running through his sound.

To let you discover and familiarise with his music, we asked Don Jaga to put together a playlist featuring some of his influences…
