Passionate listener of Mediterranean music, Alberto Ciotta alias Al-Jive Mestizo, approaches the art of djing around the mid-eighties.

During a long trip in South America discovers cumbia and the growing scene of Andean-Tropical electronics. Coming back, immediately takes part in the first edition of the Townlands Carnival Festival (Cork), in the summer of 2015 the alias Al-Jive mestizo was born.

His musical selections are constantly changing over the years but always maintaining world sounds influence while supporting solidal and environmental awareness. His musical proposal today is an eclectic mix of underground global sounds whose rhythms range from those ambient, chillout and downtempo to those faster aimed at a dancefloor audience.

“If there is anyone in the world today who wants to put up walls to divide people, there are also those who, like Al-Jive mestizo, want to tear them down with his musical proposal”

Festival guest at: Electric picnic (IRL), Body & Soul (IRL), Freekuency (P), Fora de Tempo (P), Festival International d’Art de Rue d’aurillac (F), Dox’Art (F), Goulash Disko (HR), Taka Tuka (H), 3000Grad (D), Sa Terza Metari (I), Wao (I).
