Podcast: Radio Mukambo #522 – Meus Brasis

“Meus Brasis”, my Brasils, not one sound but various sounds, not the typical samba, forró or sambareggae you’re used to, but the sounds of the northeast and the north, and the digital productions of the 21st century. It almost all comes from two albums by two of the greatest ambassadors of the diversity of Brazilian music. Amor (É Revolução) is a masterpiece by percussionist, producer and DJ Maga Bo from Rio de Janeiro, out on Brazilian label Kaxambu Records.

Maga Bo delivers his first studio album in ten years on which he once again proves he’s – in my eyes – the greatest producer of music from the nordeste. The ten tracks come with ten remixes by some of the best Brazilian producers.

The second album is a compilation by one of the greatest Brazilian DJ’s who has also turned into a promising remixer recently, DJ Tahira from São Paulo: Brasil Novo out on the British label Musica Macondo.
