Podcast: Radio Mukambo #453 – Voodoo Ale

chouk bwa crop

Traditional and contemporary collide in Vodou Ale, debut collaboration by Haitian mizik rasin (roots music) band Chouk Bwa and rumbling electronic production by The Ångströmers. This hypnotic dialogue between minimalist sound design and Afro-Haitian drum talk is our cd of the week, released via Swiss label Bongo Joe Records.

Radio Mukambo serves Afro-Latin music by Dinastía Torres (Colombia) and Caribombo (Venezuela), new singles by Hoodna Orchestra (ethio-jazz), Lokkhi Terra (bangla/Latin), Tamikrest (Touareg rock, fundraiser), Amerigo Gazaway (hip-hop), Guedra Guedra (Maghreb bass) to finish off with Dub Colossus‘ latest album Addicted to Dub.
